All About Me, Your Photographer!

Hello, Friends!

My name is Cati, and I am the photographer of Sparkle & Bloom!

Making Personal connections is one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me, and why I love what I do.

I was born and raised here in lovely Minnesota, growing up just north of the Twin Cities with my parents and my younger brother (I have them to thank for my love of art, creepy things, and my weird sense of humor). Our family has always been close-knit, and I'm so thankful for the the wonderful example they set for me in what love should look like, both in the way my parents loved one another, and in how they shared that love with others. I remember always being impressed with the way my extroverted dad could make friends with anyone, and as I got older I came to understand and appreciate all of the quiet ways my mom expressed her love to those around her as well.

I met my wonderful husband, Julian, when I was 16. His family was also very close, and together we quickly realized how similar our ideas were when it came to what we thought love should look like. We dated through first cars, high school graduations, starting and finishing college, and eventually got married in 2015 after dating for seven years. Sharing the tail-end of our formative years together has made us very similar in many ways, but in many others, Julian is my opposite. He keeps me grounded and graciously handles the 'business' needs of Sparkle & Bloom - a task that up until now, has always made me hesitant to pursue my dream of owning a photography business like this one.

So I guess my point in all of this is, I really love love, in all of the many forms it takes. My father taught me how to love out loud, and my mother's acts of service taught me so many things that have helped strengthen my bond with my husband and the quiet way that he loves. My foundations have been rooted in love for as long as I can remember, and it's important to me that my business is built on those same foundations.
